Freelensing Self Portraits

Recently I have shared some freelensed self portraits on other social media, along with those I shared some behind the scenes of how I achieved them on my Instagram stories. Because those only last for 24 hours, they are long gone. However, I've continued to receive questions on how to freelens self portraits, so I thought I'd re-share some of the quick IG story videos here!

I originally freelensed some self portraits this past spring. At the time, I included some behind the scenes videos with the blog post, "Make Magic, Don't Break Lenses" (which can be viewed HERE) But here are the more recent videos that I made and the images that I created! Hope you enjoy and let me know if you have any questions!! The final images and the original freelensed self portraits are below the videos.

The app that I use to see my camera screen on my phone screen is the Nikon WMU app and your camera needs wifi capabilities to use it. I have seen some other's guesstimate focal placement and use a remote shutter to get in front of the lens! Give it a try today!!
